Meyerton – A deadly shooting incident on the R59 near Meyerton has left five people dead and 18 others injured.According to initial reports, the incident occurred at approximately 14:44 on the R59, just off the Johan Le Roux off-ramp. It is alleged that the occupants of a white Nissan opened fire on a white Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a 22-seater vehicle transporting passengers.
During the attack, the Sprinter reportedly collided with the Nissan, which police believe may have been a stolen vehicle. Following the collision, three armed suspects allegedly fled the scene on foot, hijacked another vehicle, and escaped.
Emergency services and law enforcement agencies responded swiftly, providing medical assistance to the injured and securing the scene. The injured were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment.Police have launched a manhunt for
