Central Masina was allegedly murdered by her husband at their home in Sand River Trust, Kamajika, Mpumalanga.According to family and community reports, the couple got into a heated argument.
The husband, who was reportedly a serving police officer, allegedly attacked and killed his wife in front of their two young children.The husband was arrested at the scene shortly after the incident. He was reportedly held for approximately three months before being released.
Following his release, he allegedly returned to work in the police service, which sparked widespread outrage, anger from the victim’s family, and criticism from GBV activists who felt the justice system failed to treat the case with sufficient seriousness.As of July 2026, he’ll be actively on duty in the police service.
