16 Years Old Boy Caught With 50 Exposives Used For Bombing Cash Van & ATM Machine

A 16-year-old teenager has been arrested in Roodepoort after police uncovered a cache of explosives allegedly destined for criminal networks operating in Gauteng.

The intelligence-driven operation led officers to a specific address in Roodepoort, where the teenager was apprehended. During the search police seized 50 blasting cartridges, 25 safety fuse connectors and detonating cords materials commonly associated with high-impact criminal activities.

Explosives of this nature are frequently used in Cash-in-Transit (CIT) robberies and illegal mining operations, both of which have plagued parts of Gauteng and other provinces in recent years. Criminal syndicates often rely on blasting cartridges and detonators to breach armored vehicles during heists or to access underground mineral deposits in abandoned mines.
