From Simple Argument In Football Match, Taxi Driver Got Angry & Knocked Down Opponent Who Later Died
According to preliminary police reports, the altercation allegedly led to the victim’s bag being taken by unknown individuals and placed inside a taxi belonging to the suspect. When the deceased noticed that his belongings were missing, he confronted the taxi driver and pleaded for the return of his bag.
Police allege that the driver refused to hand over the bag and instead drove off from the scene.In a desperate attempt to stop the vehicle, the victim reportedly stood in front of the taxi. He was allegedly knocked down and dragged by the moving vehicle until it eventually came to a stop on the R81 road, a short distance from the soccer ground. Witnesses at the scene raised alarm and emergency services were called.
The victim sustained severe injuries during the incident and was rushed to Mankweng Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Despite efforts by medical personnel, he later succumbed to his injuries. His identity has not yet been released, as police investigations and formal identification processes are still underway.
